What is the significance of the Trimbakeshwar Temple?
The temple is important due to the Jyotirlinga of Lord Trimbakeshwar. It is one of the twelve holy Jyotirlinga forms of Shiva. The main is composed of three small thumb-sized Lingas, each constituting Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva. Water regularly flows out of the Linga of Lord Shiva.
The Trimbakeshwar Temple is the only Jyotirlinga where the real Linga is there in a depression or a cavity.
